"After the fluxes in the GSP series proved to be very successful on the national market, we also received an increasing number of enquiries from abroad. However, it turned out that the freight costs for overseas shipments sometimes significantly exceeded the value of the goods," explains Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH. As these conventional fluxes are hazardous goods as defined by transport regulations, requirements had to be met that made the product even more expensive. Shipping by air freight was also impossible, as the fluxes may only be packed in small containers. To overcome these problems, Emil Otto developed the flux concentrate GSP-25/AF/OVP, which is suitable as a solution for spray flux application. A complete package consists of one granulate, which is sufficient for 20 litres of flux.
Geßner emphasises the advantages of using granulates: "Thanks to transport optimisation, the flux concentrates can be transported over long distances in a very economically attractive way, as freight forwarders charge far lower costs for non-hazardous goods. Mixing the flux on site is very simple. Each granulate is supplied with the necessary information on which liquid must be added to the concentrate and in what dosage. The granulate quantities are sufficient for 5, 10 or 20 litres.
